The perfect minimalist wardrobe for any senior lady
I don’t think I could be a minimalist. But I like the idea of decluttering. Us seniors have a lot of stuff. Looking into my closet has made me feel it’s time to look at some of these minimalistic ideas. So, after a lot of thought and realizing what I actually do wear, I have found my dream wardrobe for summer. A practical minimalist summer wardrobe. A wardrobe I can wear everywhere. Half of what I found was already in my closet.
I’m not a fashionista. I think that comes with age. Keeping it simple is best for me now that I’m in my 70’s. I have 3 pairs of crop pants. I love crop pants for summer. I have jean, white and a pair of khaki crop pants. Crop pants look good on everyone and every figure. The white pair I bought at Chico’s and wear them for a dressy look with my black tee and some accessories like earrings and maybe a pendant necklace. You can find Jean crop pants anywhere. Please don’t forget to try them on. Most of us seniors hate trying on clothes but if you are dedicated to having a minimalist wardrobe you do want to love all your clothes and the fitting is so important.
I took a look of at all my tops. Most of them might as well be tee-shirts minus the pattern. So I went online and found some tee shirts at Econcious .They have the classic tee and the vee neck tee as well. I bought 2 each of white, black and gray. Their tees are 100% organic cotton fabric. Remember cotton? Yes, they still make cotton. They go with all my bottoms and I can add accessories to make my outfit look finished. If you aren’t into tee shirts, LL Bean has some cute short sleeved shirts ( I call them blouses) that will go nicely with all your pants. You can return your purchases very easily at LL Bean if they don’t fit perfectly.
The blazer is a great piece of clothing. Look for one that is casual linen or cotton. You can wear your blazer with your crop pants or a simple dress to finish off your look for the day or evening. I have a white blazer but I suggest a navy blue may look as well and can be used for a dressy look or just shopping around town. I have a jean jacket and I wear it more often than I thought I would, such as, for shopping in cold grocery stores and anytime I want a more casual look.
I only have one summer dress but I found these two at LL Bean. They look great on any figure. I like the color blue because it is versatile.
Having a wide foot makes it really hard to find good shoes that are affordable. I found these adorable RED Keds in wide on Zappos. They look great with all my casual outfits. Very trendy. They also carry other colors. I have an insole with arch support that I put inside these shoes and they are very comfy shoes. Look for a black ballet flat that you can wear for dress or casual. Zappos is my favorite place to shop for shoes.
Don’t forget to add some jewelry to your wardrobe. I found a great place to find unusual pieces that are perfect for any occasion Ross-Simons Another fun place I love to shop for costume jewelry is Macy’s or how about Park Lane Jewelry. My husband bought me a great pendant necklace from a girl who was selling Park Lane jewelry at work. They also sell online. Take a look.
I still wear my work clothes ( Gardening and house cleaning ). I wouldn’t throw them away but, when I’m going out anywhere this summer, I have a great wardrobe with clothing that looks good on me. A minimalist style for sure. Most of all I am comfortable. Goodbye Fashion Police!!

I am not an advertiser of any stores or products and do not receive money for mentioning them on my blog. I only mention them because I have bought them for myself and appreciate the quality. Use these suggestions as a guide and can shop at your favorite stores.
I would love to hear from you.
